Crystalline Chlorine 2kg Pail | Sodium Di-Chlor Pool & Spa Sanitizer
The ideal mid-size chlorine for regular pool and spa owners. Crystalline Chlorine 2kg is the sweet spot between the 1kg starter pail and the 4kg bulk option - fast-dissolving Sodium Di-Chlor that keeps your pool or spa water crystal clear, bacteria-free, and safe, without the commitment of a larger pail.
UV-stabilised and ready to use straight from the pail - no pre-dissolving required. Whether you're shocking a pool after heavy rain or keeping a spa sanitised week after week, this stabilised formula delivers consistent results.

Dosing Guide
Swimming Pools - Shock Dosing:
- Add 500g per 10,000L of pool water
- Raises chlorine by approximately 1-2 ppm
- Apply in the evening or early morning for best results
- Run pump for at least 4 hours after dosing
Spa Pools - Initial Fill:
- Add 80g per 1,000L of spa water on first fill
- Ongoing maintenance: 1 teaspoon per person per use, or 1 tablespoon per week if used infrequently
- Run jets after dosing and keep cover off for at least 15 minutes
- Always test water with strips before and after dosing
Tip: Apply in the evening or early morning when UV is lowest for maximum chlorine retention. Target 1-3 ppm for pools, 3-5 ppm for spas. Always test before and after dosing.
Available Sizes

Use in Combination with Trichlor Tablets
Crystalline Chlorine works exceptionally well alongside Trichlor Tablets for a complete pool sanitisation system. Use Trichlor tablets in a floating dispenser for slow-release ongoing chlorination, then use Crystalline Chlorine for shock dosing after heavy use or when chlorine levels drop.
Safety and Storage
- Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight
- Keep away from children and pets
- Do not mix with other pool chemicals
- Always wash hands after handling
Recommended Accessories
- 5-in-1 Test Strips - test chlorine, pH, alkalinity, and hardness before and after dosing.
- Trichlor Tablets 5-Pack - slow-release ongoing chlorination, pairs perfectly with Crystalline Chlorine.
- pH Increaser (Soda Ash) 4kg - keep pH in the ideal 7.2-7.6 range for maximum chlorine effectiveness.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is the difference between Sodium Di-Chlor and Trichlor?
A: Sodium Di-Chlor (Dichlor) dissolves faster and is pH-neutral, making it ideal for spas and regular pool dosing. Trichlor is slower-dissolving and better suited to tablet feeders for ongoing pool maintenance.
Q: Can I use this in a saltwater pool?
A: Yes - Crystalline Chlorine can be used to shock a saltwater pool when the salt cell isn't keeping up, such as after heavy rain or high bather load.
Q: How often should I shock my pool or spa?
A: Shock pools weekly during summer or after heavy use, rain, or cloudy water. For spas, dose after every use or at least weekly.
Q: How long after dosing can I swim or use the spa?
A: Wait until chlorine levels drop to 1-3 ppm for pools (typically 4-8 hours), or 3-5 ppm for spas (typically 30-60 minutes with jets running). Always test before use.
Q: How long will a 2kg pail last?
A: For a 1,000L spa dosed weekly at 1 tablespoon (~15g), a 2kg pail lasts approximately 133 weeks. For shock dosing a 10,000L pool at 500g per shock, it provides 4 shock treatments.
