How to Replace Your Zodiac Hose

  1. Turn off your pool pump and remove the existing hose from the cleaner and skimmer box.
  2. Lay out the new hose sections and connect them end to end using the twist and lock mechanism - twist until you feel the section lock into place.
  3. Attach one end to the suction cleaner inlet and the other to the skimmer box or dedicated suction port.
  4. Submerge the hose fully and allow it to fill with water before restarting the pump.
  5. Check each connection for air bubbles, which indicate an incomplete seal - re-twist any loose sections.
  6. Restart the pump and observe cleaner movement for the first few minutes to confirm suction is restored.

Maintenance

Inspect hose sections at the start of each season for cracks, kinks, or loose connections. Hoses that have become brittle, discoloured, or no longer lock securely should be replaced. Storing hoses out of direct sunlight during winter will extend their service life.

Q: How many hose sections do I need for my pool?
A: Most residential pools require between 7 and 12 metres of hose depending on pool size and skimmer box location. This 5m pack is ideal for a partial replacement. If replacing a full hose-line, measure from your skimmer box to the furthest point of your pool and add 1 to 2 metres.

Q: Are these hoses compatible with all Zodiac cleaners?
A: These hoses use the Zodiac Twist and Lock connection and are compatible with the MX6, MX8, AX10, T3, T5, and newer G2 models. They are not compatible with older Zodiac models that use a different hose fitting. Contact us if you are unsure.

Q: Can I mix genuine and aftermarket hose sections?
A: This is not recommended. Aftermarket sections often have slightly different diameters or connection tolerances, which can cause air leaks at the join points and reduce suction. Using a full set of genuine Zodiac hoses gives the most reliable result.

Q: My cleaner is losing suction - will new hoses fix it?
A: A degraded hose-line is one of the most common causes of suction loss. Check each section for cracks, kinks, or loose connections. If the hose is more than three to four seasons old, replacing the full set is usually the most cost-effective fix before investigating the cleaner itself.

Q: How do I know if my hose connection is airtight?
A: With the pump running, look for air bubbles rising from any of the hose connections. Bubbles indicate an air leak at that join. Re-twist the connection firmly until the bubbles stop. If the connection will not seal, the hose end may be worn and that section should be replaced.

Q: Is this product covered by a warranty?
A: Yes - genuine Zodiac parts are covered under Zodiac's standard manufacturer warranty. Retain your proof of purchase. Contact us if you experience a fault within the warranty period and we will assist with the claim.
