Cloudy spa water or reduced jet pressure? A clogged or worn filter is almost always the cause. The Alpine C18 Spa Filter is the correct replacement cartridge for selected Alpine spa pools, the right dimensions, the right thread, and the right fit to restore your spa's filtration performance.

A clean filter is the foundation of a healthy spa. Without effective filtration, dirt, oils, and contaminants accumulate in the water, consume your sanitizer, and create the conditions for cloudy water, skin irritation, and biofilm. Replacing or cleaning your filter regularly is the single most impactful maintenance task you can do.

Cross-Reference Codes

This filter is sold under several equivalent part numbers. If your existing filter shows any of the following codes, this is the correct replacement:

  • Alpine C18
  • CD18
  • BBF5QP02
  • OEM 2014

Key Features

  • Correct Fit. C18/CD18/BBF5QP02 format, 143mm diameter, 160mm length, 46mm SAE coarse thread.
  • Semi-Circle / Bar Handle Top. Easy grip for removal and installation without tools.
  • Pleated Filter Media. Maximum surface area for efficient debris and contaminant capture.
  • Durable Construction. Built for extended performance in hot spa water conditions.
  • Easy to Install. Thread-in base for secure, leak-free fit.

The Two-Filter Rotation System

We strongly recommend buying two sets of filters and rotating them fortnightly to monthly depending on usage. See our Alpine C18 2-Pack for the best value option. Here's why the rotation system works:

  1. Remove Filter A from the spa
  2. Install clean Filter B immediately - spa is back in action
  3. Soak Filter A overnight in Filter Cleaner Soak
  4. Rinse thoroughly and leave to dry completely
  5. Next rotation - swap back to Filter A, clean Filter B

Your spa never runs on a dirty filter, filters last significantly longer with proper drying, and water quality stays consistently high between cleans.

How to Clean Your Spa Filter

  1. Remove filter from the spa
  2. Rinse with a garden hose - spray between pleats at a 45-degree angle to dislodge debris
  3. Soak overnight in a bucket of water with Filter Cleaner Soak - removes oils, sunscreen, and mineral deposits the hose can't shift
  4. Rinse thoroughly until water runs clear
  5. Allow to dry completely before reinstalling or storing

Important: Never use a pressure washer - it damages the pleated media and shortens filter life significantly.

When to Replace Your Spa Filter

  • Filter has been in use for 12 months or more
  • Pleats are visibly damaged, torn, or collapsed
  • Filter no longer cleans up properly after soaking
  • Water remains cloudy despite correct chemical balance
  • Reduced jet pressure that doesn't improve after cleaning

Even with regular cleaning, spa filters should be replaced every 12 months. The pleated media degrades over time and loses filtration efficiency even when it looks clean.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I know if this filter fits my spa?
A: Check your existing filter for the code C18, CD18, or BBF5QP02 on the endcap, or measure it - 143mm diameter, 160mm length, 46mm SAE coarse thread base, semi-circle/bar handle top. If unsure, email a photo of your old filter to perfectpoolsnz@gmail.com and we'll confirm before you order.

Q: What Alpine spa models does this fit?
A: Compatible with selected Alpine Spas models including San Marino, Santorini, Monaco, Mont Blanc, Whistler, Blackburn, Makalu, Montana, Vermont, Summit, Matterhorn, Sierra, Lucania, McKinley, Vancouver, Munro, Everest, K2 and Quebec. Always confirm by matching physical dimensions.

Q: What is the difference between C18, CD18, and BBF5QP02?
A: These are all equivalent part numbers for the same filter sold under different codes by different suppliers. OEM reference 2014 is also used. If your filter shows any of these codes, this is the correct replacement.

Q: How often should I clean my spa filter?
A: Rinse weekly with a hose and deep clean monthly with Filter Cleaner Soak. The two-filter rotation system makes this much easier.

Q: How often should I replace my spa filter?
A: Every 12 months regardless of appearance. Filter media degrades over time and loses efficiency even when it looks clean.

Q: Can I use a pressure washer to clean the filter?
A: No - pressure washers damage the pleated media and significantly shorten filter life. Use a garden hose at 45 degrees between the pleats.

Q: Why should I buy two filters?
A: The two-filter rotation system means your spa always runs on a clean filter, filters dry properly between uses extending their life, and you never have to wait for a filter to dry before getting back in the spa. See our Alpine C18 2-Pack for the best value option.

Q: Is this product covered by a warranty?
A: Yes, this product is backed by a manufacturer warranty. For warranty queries, contact us.
