Is 1kg the right size?
Over 1,500L and up to 3,000L: choose this 1kg pack. Up to 1,500L: choose Simple Silver 500g. Select using the spa's filled water volume, not its number of seats. Buying the larger pack does not extend the replacement interval.
Check circulation before switching. Water volume is only part of compatibility: the filtration system must also meet the manufacturer's circulation requirement. Low-flow systems may not be suitable, even if they run all day. Confirm suitability for inflatable spas, unusual filtration arrangements and swim spas above 3,000L rather than simply increasing the quantity. Domestic use only, not commercial applications.
Setup and filter care
Use the manufacturer's complete setup guide. The key stages are:
- Check the starting condition. The spa and filters must be clean. Bromine users must drain and refill before switching. For dirty plumbing or a spa that has been left empty, follow the manufacturer's cleaning procedure before installation.
- Immerse the treatment and configure filtration. The manufacturer specifies 100,000 litres of filtered circulation daily. This is a daily circulation total, not the spa capacity. Check the controller settings guide for the correct setup.
- Observe the waiting period. Allow 7 days without bathing for first-time use, then solution-clean and dry the filters as instructed. For repeat users renewing treatment after draining and refilling, allow 5 days.
Low maintenance does not mean no maintenance. The manufacturer calls for filter solution-cleaning at least every two weeks, more frequently when use or contamination requires it. Clean the filter housing, rinse thoroughly and follow the cleaner and filter instructions. Keep circulation correctly configured throughout use.
Annual renewal: replace after 12 months of use. If using a pre-drain pipe cleaner during the reset, use it before draining, then rinse, refill and follow the repeat-user setup.
Questions about the 1kg pack
What do I receive?
One Simple Silver 1kg treatment pack in its protective case. This is a one-off purchase, not an automatically renewing subscription. Filter cleaner and replacement cartridges are sold separately.
Is this a two-year supply for a smaller spa?
No. The 1kg pack is the larger-capacity option for a 12-month treatment period. For a spa up to 1,500L, use the 500g pack unless the manufacturer advises otherwise for your specific setup.
How do I know when it needs replacing?
Record the installation date. The manufacturer says the substrate remains after the treatment period, so the tablet can look and weigh much the same. Do not wait for it to dissolve.
Can I combine it with other water-care products?
The manufacturer confirms chlorine compatibility, but bromine must not be used with Simple Silver. Check instructions before combining products and follow your spa manufacturer's sanitiser and water-testing requirements. Clear water alone does not establish bathing safety.
What if the water becomes cloudy or smells?
Stop using the spa while the cause is investigated. Check filtration, circulation and recent use, then seek product-specific advice. Adding another tablet is not a substitute for identifying the cause.
